Go Ahead and Get Started

One thing I’m learning as I venture into entrepreneurship, things don’t always happen as pictured in my head. I wanted everything to be just right before opening day of my practice. Every office decorated and filled with all the fixings of furniture, pictures, and plants (even though plants don’t seem to survive long in my care). Everything just needed to be “right” for the first day.

Here’s the part where “Rome wasn’t built in a day” makes sense. Everything is NOT going to be just right in the beginning. Focusing solely on opening a business was not my reality. I was still working and of course I have a social life. Yes, taking breaks is important. Aside from that, there is a learning curve. There are some things I don’t know. I’m making mistakes and getting guidance from those mistakes. That’s not a negative, it’s the reality. You adjust to what reality is. The focus shifts to the progress that is currently being made versus what didn’t happen yet.

My office isn’t fully finished, but it’s functional. My clients will have a safe, comfortable space to express themselves.

I read a quote that kind of sums it all up. “Nature does not hurry yet everything is accomplished.”
